The Leigham Well, Streatham
Rachel Street and Andrew Britten-Austen
As Rachel and her husband, Andrew, both excelled in their careers prior to becoming publicans, they noticed they had less and less time to spend together and after some consideration, they decided a life change was in order!
The Leigham Arms, as it was previously known, was the couple’s local and they felt the pub had enormous potential so set about taking the pub on. Rachel and Andrew worked collaboratively with Ei Publican Partnerships to undertake a number of training courses before taking the pub on, putting them in the best place possible to get off to a flying start. The pair joined local pub-watch meetings to establish a network of like-minded individuals who are able to offer help, support and ideas and used their skills and knowledge from previous jobs to work with meticulous professionalism which they say has kept them on their toes!
Rachel and Andrew have had the challenge they wanted and needed and say they the best part of their new roles has been watching the steady return of customers and the positive feedback they receive.
